Hello! My name is Griffin Bassett, and I am currently working towards a master’s degree in applied linguistics. My primary research area is sociolinguistics, or the intersection between language and society. I also make music in my spare time!

The bulk of my work can be found on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, where I publish short-form educational content about linguistics and geography. Some of my favorite videos have been about why Dutch sounds “funny” to English speakers; how Austronesian alignment works in Tagalog; and the history of the suffix -ly. You can find more of my videos and writing on my Portfolio.
If you are interested in my work or in linguistics in general, feel free to reach out to me on my Contact page above!
